Good Morning & Happy Valentine’s Day!
I love Valentine’s Day! Not only does it mean that I get to be all lovey-dovey with my fiancé and no one can judge… but it also means I get to eat my very favorite pasta! My fiancé and I go to the same restaurant on Valentine’s Day and on our anniversary every year. Meaning – I only get my favorite pasta twice a year. Two years ago I took home some of my pasta that I had leftover and I left it in the car for two days so I couldn’t eat it. It was tragic.
I wanted to call this a “Valentine’s Day Gift Guide”, but really it’s more than that! I wanted to walk you through some fun things that I do for Valentine’s Day. If you are looking for ideas then you have come to the right place.
Go To A Fancy Restaurant
It is so worth it! The food is always better, the atmosphere is romantic, and it makes for a perfect start to the night. We go to Café Napoli in Clayton, MO. It is super romantic and super delicious. Worth every penny.
Come Up With A Clever Gift
This year I got creative and I am so excited about it. As soon as I give him the gift, I will tell you all about it! Until then… shhh.
This is my all-time favorite Valentine’s Day “event”. I got this idea from the movie The Vow by Nicholas Sparks back in 2012. I have remembered it ever since and we have been playing this game for quite a few years now. It is simple. Go buy the biggest heart-shaped box of chocolates you can find. However, the box has to have a card that shows what the chocolates are (for example: nougat, caramel, etc.). The game begins by your significant other picking a chocolate for you and, with your eyes closed, you eat it and try to guess the flavor/filling/etc. You go back and forth until you get full… or finish the box.
Last But Absolutely Not Least… Baked Goods!!
I love any excuse to make a baked good but especially for Valentine’s Day! I came up with two recipes that I intend on giving to my loved ones for Valentine’s Day. What better way to say I love you than with chocolate?? I came up with one of the ideas myself and the other came from my Pinterest. Thanks to a blog called Princess Pinky Girl! Let’s get started!
- I love chocolate covered strawberries, but they aren’t the easiest to eat. Not to mention… strawberries are so expensive this time of year! I came up with a perfect solution. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake Pops! Check out the recipe here!
- Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies Dipped In Chocolate! Wow, that’s a mouthful. Literally. These are delicious, easy, and super festive! Check out the recipe here!
