Good Morning! I am a freak about keeping my face clean and blemish free. I use to struggle in this area but for the last few years, I feel like I have been making progress. What better day to write this blog than today – I woke up 8 minutes before I needed to leave for work so it’s a no-makeup day! I usually do this routine morning and night. Occasionally I will mix it up a use a face mask or an exfoliant instead.
Step 1 – Remove Makeup!
I use a warm, damp towel or a makeup remover wipe. I used the reusable towels called Erase Your Face by Danielle creations. You can get these on Amazon or at other beauty stores. These are great because you can just throw them in the washer when they get dirty. They are great for sensitive skin because they are so soft! If I don’t use these, I use the Simple cleansing facial wipes. These are also made for sensitive skin. I love these because they do not leave a residue on my face.
Step 2 – Cleanse!
Next, I use my Clarisonic to wash my face. I use the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser. I have been using the face wash for about two years and it has never failed me. It is a little pricey but I find that the 24 oz bottle will last me almost a whole year. I put about a nickel size of this product directly onto my Clarisonic brush and wash/rinse my face with warm water.
Step 3 – Toner!
After I have patted my face dry (with a CLEAN towel), I use a toner to keep my skin smooth and soft. I use a toner under my moisturizer because it locks in the moisture all day long. In the Winter, this is especially important to me. The toner I use is L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Toner. I use a cotton ball with my toner to wipe down my face.
Step 4 – Moisturize!
My favorite part. I use two products religiously nowadays. The first step is a serum. I use Hey Honey Good Morning Face Serum. While this product says “Good Morning”, I use it both day and night. A very small amount of this product goes a long way! After I apply my serum all over, I use Neutrogena Deep Moisture Day Cream (I use this day and night as well). While this product does not claim to be oil-free, I have never felt oily after using this. Another plus to this moisturizer is the SPF that it contains. Protect your face!
There you go! This is my go-to skin care routine. I found all of these products by trial and error. I do not think that all expensive products are better than drug store products. Remember – if you are at a beauty store and you see a product that you might like to try, ask for a sample! They will usually give it to you free of charge. Have a Happy Tuesday!
