MMM, COFFEE!

I love coffee. The only reason I get up early is so I can enjoy drinking my coffee before getting ready for work. I love all types of coffee… sweet, unsweet, flavored, unflavored. But recently, I have been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake. While I could drink decaf… I just chose to cut down to one cup of coffee a day. Also, recently, coffee has not been sitting well with me. It sometimes makes my stomach hurt or makes me feel ill. Sometimes when I eat/drink foods that are highly acidic, I don’t feel very well. Awhile ago, I learned that adding cinnamon to highly acidic foods, reduces the acidity in them. Actually, when I used to be a server, a table I had one night told me this. I thought that this would be perfect for me to try with coffee! I added 2 tsp of cinnamon and ½ tsp of nutmeg (for flavor) directly on top of my coffee grounds. I mixed them up and brewed my coffee. Not only was it delicious, but it helped my stomach issues! I felt completely fine all day and I got to enjoy a sweet, cinnamon-flavored coffee. I encourage you all of you coffee drinkers to try this! Let me know if you like it!

P.S. This little trick has been my savior since I cut added sugar out of my diet for the month of February! The spices make my coffee flavorful without adding unnecessary sugar! It tones down the bitterness of black coffee.
